Art of the day on EBSQ

I woke this morning to find that one of my watercolour paintings had been made Art of the Day on EBSQ

Summer Evening (Leigh-on-Sea)

Watercolour on watercolour paper

A wonderful start to the day. Can it get better?

Cogratulations. I am not sure what ESBQ is? It sounds fantastic. I have really enjoyed visiting your blog. Your paintings are subtle but powerful. The colors and the effecxts with the paint are beautiful. Lots of lovely soft and lost edges. Wow! Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations! I checked out the EBSQ website ... very impressive list of artists! Thanks for sharing that info ... but most of all, thanks for sharing this gorgeous painting! (I love the new header pic too)

Hi Magicmyst. EBSQ is a wonderful online communiy for all artists to display their work. There are monthly online exhibitions, forums and opportunities to share your skills.
Hi Joan. Yes, I'm quite pleased with the pic I've chosen for the header. It's from a watercolour of beach huts I painted as a present for my brother-in-law's wedding. I'm still messing around with the design for my blog, so there'll probably be more changes before I setlle on a design I'm happy with.
I'm glad you both like the painting. I was particularly pleased with the way I managed to captue the lighting in this piece.

I also really love your blog header painting. I could learn a lot about color from you...I'll be back.

Thanks Margaret Ann.
It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining on the mud flats and a rather misty, romantic haze in the distance.
