Well, I seem to have it beat (for the moment) and the computer is now running at its previous (not actually that fast) speed.
To celebrate, I am posting one of my wife Maeve's colourful works.

Hi John...glad that you are up and running again...there is such frustration that comes when technology doesn't work...it's not normal, what happens to us...hope it's smooth sailing from here on out....love Mave's work...such a free yet controlled innocence...
glad you got your "groove" back! You gotta hate and love these computers! Love the watercolor!
Glad to see you back online! I love your wife's painting. It is very bold, modern and bright.
Glad you are back up and sorry to hear about the viruses etc. That is one of the many reasons I use a MAC...non of these problems!
Love your work especially this one.
Ditto to what BW said.. get yourself a MAC and all those problems go away. Then you can concentrate on your work! Enjoy your art and your blog, BTW.
Can't live without them, but living with them is awful!!!
Love your wife's painting!!!
Very colorful illustrative piece..your wife is very talented as well!
It's such hard work to keep the computer ticking along..:-)
I hope you didn't loose anything important. Glad you are back.

You are SOOOO talented... you both inspire me and embarrass me for my lack of talent!!!!!
Love this style - Very nice
Thank you for your comments from myself and Maeve to:
Amy - all my fingers are crossed hoping I get no more nasties in my computer.

Karlana
bwphoto,Mark - would get a MAC if only finances would allow it. Till then it's "batten down the hatches" and fight off the marauding viruses!!
On a whimsy - absolutely agree
