February "Win a Painting" Competition

Well, here it is. The first competition to win one of my original paintings. The work I am offering is one of my Whitby paintings.

Outside the Pavilion, Whitby
Artist quality watercolour on watercolour paper
8.3" x 11.7"

This painting shows the view looking down onto the "big beach" at Whitby from outside the Whitby Pavilion. The pavilion itself is built into the west cliff (hence the wall - stops you from falling down the cliff!) and offers stunning sea views along the coast.

In addition five other lucky people will win one of five signed limited edition prints of the painting.

To qualify you must:

1. Subscribe to my email posts.
2. Comment on this posting.
3. Mention this posting in one of your posts this month. The post does have to be only about my competition, but it should mention it with a link back to the competition post.
4. Comment on at least 5 other of my posts for this month.

This painting has been produced specifically for this competition and the edition will be limited to 5.
This is a great opportunity to own an original artwork.

Please note:
One entry per person
The painting and prints will be unframed and unmounted.
The prints of the artwork will be printed on A4 paper and will have a small white border on all edges.

The competition will run from the first of the month to the last day of the month.
The winner and runner-up prizes will be determined by a draw from all qualifying names and will be announced during the first week of March.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any inquiries about the competition and Good Luck!!

Hi John,
Your paintings and yourself have been featured in my blog- Literatti. I don't create links in my comments on your post but it is blogger (blogspot) who does that. Come over to my blog to see your paintings and review. God bless.

Oh that's wonderful... a landscape! It's beautiful! And I love the sea, as you'll see {giggle} in my post tomorrow! Wish me luck!

I wrote about your competition in my blog "Definitely Maybe". If I write a post about it in my other blogs, will that count as extra entries for me?

Mel - thanks for featuring my work on your blog. The post looks wonderful.

Babette - thanks for the post on my competition.
An interesting point about allowing extra entries for multiple blogs. I'll have to think about this for future competitions. For this competition I am going to keep it at 'one entry per person'.

Storybeader and Dallasmarketing - look forward to seeing your posts.

Best of luck to all of you.

This is a lovely piece of work! You can almost smell the scent of the sea wafting past the wallflower. Well done!

Just the AWESOME watercolor. The beauty talks loudly here. While the colors warm my heart, the drawing warns - that sounds like a riddle, but that puzzle doubles the impact of your art to me - while only 5 people will become the winners, totally all viewers of your picture already became the faithful barriers of your artistic palette - Thank you. Thank you in name of us all.

Petra - the sun was starting to go down and left lovely warm colours in the sky.

Sharon - yes, it just reminds me of summer holidays!

Tomas - thank you for your comment. I love the idea that 'beauty talks loudly here'

Thanks rkdsign

John -

To have talent like yours...wow! I am an artist as well but cannot paint like this to save my life. Maybe that is why I concentrate on mixed media? lol

This is a beautiful painting and the winner will be very lucky to own it. Very generous!

I also agree with Tomas - only 5 people may be technical "winners", everyone who views this painting has won by having beauty injected into their lives.

(I'm now a subscriber via email - looking forward to you brightening my days!)

I've just posted about this contest at Writing with Wings. Sure hope you get lots of entries!

Katherine - thanks for your comment. I have to admit, I really like mixed media too. Gives you plenty of opportunities for experimenting.

Rita - thanks for the post.

How can one resist? I remember when I first saw your work, I was struck by how you use yellow/s so successfully. I couldn't think of anyone else who does this, and it gives you a unique "look."

I'll post on your contest at the rabbit hole. Now if I can only remember to get my comments in!! Most of us artists can't afford to buy other artists' work so this is a fun opportunity.

Patrice, thanks for your comment. Yellows are an important element in my work. You're right, it is so frustrating when you see art that you would like to buy, but can't afford it. Best of luck in the competition.
